Halloween Party, dancing and the free turkey~I'm writing this out of someone else's computer so forgive me that I cannot type in Chinese and thus my first English blog, which is basically just a dry narration of what happened in the past few days. guys, please bear with me for the mean time, till I write a proper Chinese blog next time...
This coming Tue (Oct 31st) is the Halloween, reputedly one of the most fun but also spooky holidays in USA. It's my first time to actually experience Halloween cos Singapore never really had the tradition of celebrating it, let alone China. On sat evening NOC threw its own Halloween party, everybody dressed up as much as they could. It was really hilarious seeing people dressed up in that way, exhibiting an alternative persona than what they are usually known to be. My top 3 favorites are weijie, xiankan and gim huat, who dressed up as a hippie, a pirate and a ninja turtoise respectively. Joey bought a costume on my behalf. It was a flimsy, scanty dress worthing only 5 bucks, I was supposed to be a devil, but apparently I failed, since nobody thought a devil should dress in such light pink...But we were not the truly creative ones yet, walking on the streets, you could see people dressed up in all kinds of weird stuff imaginable, some even daring the cold weather by being almost naked~
After the NOC party, we went on to the party thrown by club SG and HK, it was just soooooooooooooooo overcrowded, packed with people drinking and dancing wildly. I never liked that kind of environment much and thus left earlier but for those who stayed, most of them were totally gone by the time they reached home, gibbering all kinds of funny rubbish and many suffered from a hangover the 2nd day.
Sunday afternoon, I went taking Rumba and Swing dance classes from UPenn ballroom and latin dance club. I found that amazingly, after such a long while, my dancing skills seem to finally pick up, I seem to be suddenly enlightened and am no longer as clumsy as i used to be, haha~
The best part came on Sunday night, when our household, the 9 Ludlow angels (or devils) got a free turkey for exceeding a certain amount of purchase at Fresh Grocery. It took us hours to bake the turkey but finally it was done and we stuffed it with cheese and carrots and cherry tomatoes!!!!! Gosh, this resembles so much of a thanksgiving or a christmas. i really start to love this household, where there's an overflowing of fun, love and care.
